Holidays and birthdays always remind me how much I hate them. I don't know whether it is due to always being disappointed with the gifts which sounds bad without knowing the details or the fact I have never in my 30 some odd years shared it with anyone other than my family. Somehow in the past whether it was intentional or not I was always single for my birthday and holidays. Oh well when you give up dating that isn't ever going to change and at this point I can't even remember how long it has been.

9:32 pm - Good place to buy baby back ribs?
|
My friends and family are planning to do a large BBQ in March and we are trying to find a good place to buy slabs of baby back ribs to cook in Tampa, preferably North Tampa. My friend usually gets his from Sam's Club and we tried those last time. We just found their ribs had a little too much fat on them with a thick layer over the top of the slab.
The problem is we are spoiled since we are friends with the people who used to supply Chili's with their baby back ribs and we would just buy cases from them. Unfortunately they decided to retire so we no longer have our rib connections.

Well we had our company Xmas party Friday night. This is the first time I have gone in years. I got a very nice buzz going after 13 drinks or so. I can't remember the last time I drank. All in all it was a good night. I didn't do anything I shouldn't have but I found myself starting to debate about going down that path. I wonder now what would have happened but come Monday I definitely think I would have regretted it. I will already have to tell my adventures to a co-worker.

Just fucking bored out of my mind.
Xbox 360...broken so can't play that
PC...no games to really play since nothing has come out that I wanted to play
Tivo...way too many shows to watch, but nothing that I feel like watching.
TV...not a damn thing on.
It also isn't helping that it is so damn warm outside.

Damn Directv has started cropping the local channels on standard definition. Gone are the days of widescreen versions of your favorite shows without HD. This definitely sucks ass. Now everything looks zoomed in and larger than it should be.

I hate Temple Terrace some times. The garbage service is one of the worst I have ever dealt with.
Due to all the storms or possibly just my asshole neighbor cutting his trees into my backyard again, I had some large tree branches in my backyard. My yard crew was nice enough to cut it up small but apparently that wasn't good enough for Temple Terrace. It also has to be tied into bundles. This is the same garbage company who wouldn't pick up a carpet tube which was as big as a wrapping paper tube but twice as long. The thing was paper but apparently it was too big. If I had folded it in half they would have taken it which means they could have folded it and taken it also. They also tried to tell my neighbor her trash was too heavy and they wouldn't take it. Meanwhile it wasn't too heavy for the pregnant woman to carry to the curb.
Now my sister's garbage collection not only charges less but they will pick up anything even old furniture.

I apparently am not allowed to buy gas. I have been to 5 gas stations in the last two days and none of them have pumps that are working. My guess is they are waiting for the new shipment to raise prices.

Unfortunately for me things really don't change. I could change some things, but I know it will never happen. Other things are just too late to change.
As a result I find myself annoyed more and more with women. I say women since for the most part guys don't tend to tell me stories, and by stories I don't mean lies but more once upon a time. This is mostly due to the fact the majority of people I work with are women and to the people I am friendly with I tend to be too nice towards. By being too nice I find myself listening to stories I really don't want to hear, but I suppose as a work-friend, you know the people who you work with who you are close enough with to tell your problems to but not close enough to hang out with outside of work, I should just shut up and listen which I do. Oh well what can I do.

Well I got my cat back only to think I lost it again tonight which reminded me to update here.
Tuesday night I went out and fed my strays. I didn't see her at all. Then about three hours later I went out to get the plates and decided to try feeding again to see if she might make an appearance. As I was fixing the second plate she ran up from behind and stayed out of reach. Then as I fixed the third plate she got close enough to grab. I grabbed her and threw her inside. It took me two days to brush all the stuff out of her coat.
Then tonight my roommate was moving stuff in and I couldn't find her again. I was about to snap since I had seen her in the hall and they had the utility door and garage door open giving free access outside again. I was looking everywhere, in the storage rooms, utility room, in the garage and under couches. I finally decided to start grabbing all my cats to toss them in my room while I looked again. I finally found her between the couch and the wall sleeping. She was located where I wouldn't have been able to see her except to look in the corner.
Needless to say I was relieved and also can't wait until I am living alone again.

I was bored the other day so I posted a quick profile on plentyoffish.com after reading about it on one of the message boards I visit. I was really curious about it since it is the only 100% free dating site I had heard of. Needless to say I am surprised how often I have been emailed so far, but of course not a single one of them are my type. Then again I just like window shopping.
It is funny somewhat to see what people consider average these days for body type.

Looks like I will only be buying Blue Bell Ice cream for now. They so far haven't increased in price while at the same time decreasing the size of the package. At least they have Cherry Vanilla in season right now. I didn't check the Publix kind only Edys and Bryers.
In other notes I will be looking for roommates once again. My one roommate moves out the first week of May and the other sometime probably around the end of May. I really don't want roommates, but that is what I get for working for the family who don't pay me enough to live here on my own.

Damn it. I went for a test drive tonight. I drove both the R32 and the GTI. I loved the R32 and the GTI was good so no big help there. The big dilemma I am facing is which car do I go with.
The R32 I should be able to get for around 29,500 before taxes and trade-in.
The GTI I should be able to get for around 28,000 before taxes and trade-in.
The R32 should be worth more 4 years from now which is when I usually start looking at new cars. The previous R32 held its value very well so the difference could easily be $5000 or so since it is a limited production vehicle.
At the same time I prefer the styling of the 4 door GTI, but the power of the R32. VW in its infinite wisdom decided not to bring the 4 door R32 over or this wouldn't even be a decision for me. I know if I get the GTI I will love the way it looks every time I see it. The R32 I will love every time I drive it though.
I guess I should just get the R32 now I just need to decide the color.
Blue which looks gorgeous but will show the dirt.
Gray which looks good but won't show the dirt.
Red which looks ok and probably will show the dirt.
I am leaning towards gray since I don't wash or have my car detailed as often as I should.

I like having roommates for the most part. It means extra cash and the house isn't always empty. At the same time they are starting to piss me off a little. They are cleaner than my last roommates which is a huge step-up, but all of the sudden lately they can't seem to bother with their dishes. I have decided to see how long it takes for them to touch them. Tomorrow will be day 3. Both sides of the sink are full. The dishwasher is half full of clean dishes since those are the ones I ran on Monday. I figure tomorrow night we will be out of clean plates. Luckily I don't eat at home, but I do use them for feeding my cats. I may have to switch to bowls.
I am sure some people are thinking I am being petty, but it seems more often than not that I am the one to fill and empty the dishwasher. Only when it is running will I hear them open it so they can put more things in it which doesn't make sense since we fill it just about every day. The best part is they are here when I leave for work and here when I get home so it isn't a matter of them not being around.

Maybe it is just me, but is anyone else ever surprised by how many people from their high school/past that aren't anywhere to be found online. By online I mean for the most part the bigger sites like Myspace and Facebook. It is just odd to me. There are tons of people I used to know and yet they are no where to be found. I guess it makes sense since of all the people I know and have known as friends I am the most computer/internet oriented.
